The drawbacks of aluminum plastic panel curtain wall

The aluminum-plastic panel curtain wall not only has the effect of a metal curtain wall, but also is superior to a metal curtain wall. It has a light texture and is easy to be bent on the spot. It can be made into various shapes. It is currently used in some public buildings. As high-rise buildings are decorated with aluminum-plastic panel curtain walls, safety has always been the latest hot topic in the industry,Some people think that aluminum-plastic panel walls should be used sparingly or cautiously. The use of aluminum-plastic panel curtain walls in high-rise buildings will become an extremely dangerous danger for “air killers” or “invisible killers”. Mainly from the following four aspects to explain the drawbacks of aluminum-plastic board:

1. Structure of aluminum plastic plate

Aluminum composite core material mainly uses low-pressure and middle-pressure polyethylene and other polymer materials, and it is glued with tree vinegar glue. Both wood and glue contain toxic components, and they have poor performance in fire protection, weather resistance, durability and anti-aging properties. Toxic gas harmful to human health will be released during burning, high temperatures and even in the sun.

2. Quality of aluminum plastic plates

The composite strength is not high, the bending surface is easy to break, and the core material will expand when it is locally heated, causing the surface aluminum plate to deform and fall off.

In addition, the coefficient of thermal expansion is generally larger than that of the keel and the building, and a sudden drum phenomenon often occurs, thereby losing its effect and affecting the  aesthetics .

3. Lightning protection issues

When installing, the lightning protection device is generally shared with the main body of the building, and the core material and the fasteners of the aluminum plastic composite board are poor conductors of electricity. The current cannot pass quickly and is vulnerable to high-voltage lightning strikes.

4. Raw material issues

Because of the strength of the material itself, its strength against wind pressure is not high. At present, high-rise buildings in foreign advanced countries have rarely used aluminum-plastic composite panels as curtain walls, and instead use single-layer aluminum panels with relatively high safety and reliability.
